LGCB has over 65 members ranging in age from 12 to 65+. Some of us are playing in a band for the first time, others are returning from years of not playing, and some of us are even professional musicians and music educators!
We begin rehearsing for summer performances in late January and our end of season performances take place in early December.
There are no fees or dues required. Just bring your talent, your desire and your commitment.
We have begun our 2010 spring rehearsal under our new Director and Conductor, Mr. Ray Durkee. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Lake George High School Band Room.
We are looking for new members and encourage anyone who plays a band wind or percussion instrument to come and join us. In particular, we would like to fill or add to the following postions: Clarinet, Alto and Bass Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, String Bass, Tuba and Baritone Horn. If you play Clarinet and are interested in playing one of the low Carinets we can usually furnish the larger instrument.
If you are interested and can commit to the organization please email our Music Director and Conductor, Ray Durkee at director@lakegeorgecommunityband.com. You are also more than welcome to stop in at a rehearsal and check us out.
